We only sell Fairtrade hot drinks

To help farmers build a better quality of life for their families and communities. All of our tea, coffee and hot chocolate is Fairtrade, and we only buy Fairtrade sugar for you to put in your drinks.

Our apple and orange juices in our cafes and outlets are also Fairtrade.

You can view our latest Fairtrade statement here and our Fairtrade SMART action plan here.

One Water changes lives

We only stock One Water because they donate profits from all their sales to fund sustainable projects around the world.

We charge 20p for a disposable cup

And funds from these charges go towards sustainability and community projects.

All of our takeaway cartons, boxes, cups and cutlery are Vegware, made from plants not plastic.

Our food waste is regularly collected

All surplus food is collected daily and put into a Community Fridge in the Students' Union.

This fridge is open to support both students and wider members of our University community.

We sell reusable cups

In all our outlets and encourage you to bring your own cup from home.

Avoid the 20p charge for a disposable cup by buying an eCoffee cup to keep instead.

We offer a range of vegan food & drink options

Available to buy on campus.

The range is always expanding and includes sweet treats, main meals, sandwiches, salads, breakfast pots, pies, pasties and sushi.

We're working towards only using sustainably sourced palm oil

In all of our products on campus.

Reducing our carbon footprint step by step

Where we can, we work with local suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint and keep it local. Our pastries are from just down the road (Barbakan Deli) in Chorlton and our pies are supplied by HMPasties in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

All of our sandwich packaging is plastic free

And we're committed to being single use plastic free on campus. For example, all our One Water plastic bottles are 100% recycled and 100% recyclable.

We buy Free Range Milk

from a local Lancashire Dairy called Stephensons who were the first to launch Free Range Milk in the UK.
